AP Exam Reflection
At around 7:35-7:45, we were called to the gym. There was A LOT of people. I happened to sit in one of the seats in the back, near the doors. During the test, there were a lot of noise outside and this girl, who was fed up with all the noise, told one of the proctors to tell them to be quiet. One of the guys outside yelled, “Y’all gonna fail”, and I was like, “You’re right”. While I was reading the 19th-century passage, my mind went blank. I didn’t understand it at all, so I just guessed on most of the questions because I didn’t want to waste time. I didn’t get to finish the last 5 questions, so I picked random letters. I happened to get three B’s in a row and remembered Mr. Felder saying that there’s never three consecutive letters, so I went back and changed one of the answers.
Overall, I thought the essay prompts were fair. I was really scared about the argumentative essay and was worried that I could not come up with 3 examples, but surprisingly, it wasn’t that bad. I expected it to be way worse, but all three essays were manageable. I thought the in-class essay prompts were harder compared to the actual AP exam.
Should’ve studied chairs instead of rhetorical devices
I don't think you're going to fail but it's unfortunate that you had to sit in the back and be surrounded by noise. I would definitely be very irritated because I could never focus if anyone was sneezing, coughing, or making any sort of noise especially when I'm trying to understand how President Nixon couldn't be arrested because he was seated in a chair or the words that ended in "-eth" within the eighteenth century passage.
ReplyDeleteI also thought the exam wasn't that bad but I'm worried because I have done poorly on exams even when I thought I did well on them.
I felt the essay prompts were fair too because they could have been harder. Some of the prompts we viewed in class were hard and I was scared that one of the essay will be like that. Overall, I feel the same way about failing. I guess we have to wait for July.
ReplyDeleteI don't think you're gonna fail. I know people who didn't finish like 10 questions and they're still confident that they're gonna pass.
ReplyDeleteI agree that the essay prompts on the exam were easier than the ones given in class. I also had the same problem where I got 3-4 of the same answer in a row, but at that point I had given up on trying to change it. The eighteenth century passage was a mess and is probably the reason for my bad score.
ReplyDeleteI was sitting at the very front, which was more of an advantage for me, so I feel bad to hear how annoying it was to sit in the back. I agree that the in class prompts were harder than the actual essay. Even though I had issues with time, the prompts were not hard to interpret.
ReplyDeleteThe pre-nineteenth century passage was quite difficult to interpret mostly because of the language used. I agree that the essay prompts were pretty straight forward and easy to understand.
ReplyDeleteThat 18th century passage was quite a pain. I had to guess for most of the passage which was horrible of course. The essays were definitely fair and your seven word response is relatable. But we made it through the struggle so that’s all that matters.
